In November of Sichuan, You Can Touch the Whole World in Front of the Screen

The Sichuan TV Festival (SCTVF) will hold Focusing on France—Special Screening of Sunny Side of the Doc on November 6, 2015. At the appointed time, registered guests of SCTVF can watch five documents for free and have the opportunity to gather together with David Rosier (Decia Films), the producer of The Salt of the Earth, a French documentary.

In the film, she goes back to India together with Professor, a world-famous oncologist and they start a remarkable journey and experience a collision of western sciences with ancient medicine and philosophy of India. Simon Brooke, a British award-winning director, shot this film in picturesque Tamil Nadu with doctors, priests and scientists.

Sichuan TV Festival is hosted by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, and is organized by Sichuan Radio, Film and Television Bureau and Sichuan Radio and Television Station. Since it was established in 1991, it has continually made innovations and has developed into one of the most influential international film and TV festivals in Asia.   


2015(13th) Sichuan TV Festival is to be held from November 6 to 8, 2015 in Chengdu, Sichuan. Sticking closely to the latest trends of media integration, it will hold theme activities such as International Film, TV and New Media Market, Selection Activities of International “Gold Panda” Awards, International “Gold Panda” Documentary Festival, International Radio, TV & Network Equipment Exhibition, “Gold Panda” Animation and Game Expo, and “International Theme Day”, as well as other activities such as an International Radio and TV Development Forum and relevant supporting activities. It will promote and introduce new world trends in radio and TV development from multiple angles, displaying the latest achievements of the development and reforms of China’s radio and TV industry.


Sunny Side of the Doc


Sunny Side of the Doc is an international market focusing on real content. This pageant, lasting for four days, allows insiders in the documentary industry to get together to sell or purchase projects and programs and find partners for co-production. Up until now, Sunny Side of the Doc has been successfully held in Asia for six times. It has created new business opportunities for the active Asian documentary market, established partnerships for innovative cooperation and promoted mutual exchanges of documentaries: Asian countries to Asian countries and Asian countries to the whole world.


On March 2016, the 7th Asian Side of the Doc will be held in China.


From June 20 to 23, 2016, the 27th Sunny Side of the Doc will be held in La Rochelle, France.


The French Embassy in China


The Cultural Department of the French Embassy in China attaches particular importance to the audio-visual field and supports Sino-French cooperation projects in that field. The department popularizes French audio-visual content (films and televisions) in China, builds a good communication platform for professionals of film and television in China and France and organizes cultural activities such as the French Film Showcase together with the Centre Culturel Francais and Unifrance Films.
